The IPL 2025 season is producing unforgettable moments both on and off the pitch, with cricket stars Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer grabbing headlines for their emotional gestures, fierce competition, and personal milestones.

Virat Kohli’s Emotional Touch Wins the Internet

Following RCB’s victory over PBKS, cameras captured an endearing interaction between Kohli and Preity Zinta, the co-owner of Punjab Kings. Social media lit up with speculation that Kohli was showing her pictures of his children, Vamika and Akaay, coining the moment “VirZara” in tribute to the Bollywood classic.

Another heart-touching moment came when Kohli gifted a bat to PBKS youngster Musheer Khan, younger brother of Sarfaraz Khan. In a post-match revelation, Musheer said he became emotional recalling that he once scored a century using a bat previously gifted by Kohli. “I cried then. I cried again now,” Musheer said.

Kohli’s humility continued when he received the Man of the Match award for his unbeaten 73. He surprised everyone by suggesting Devdutt Padikkal deserved the honor instead:

“He anchored the innings beautifully. This one should go to him.”

Shreyas Iyer’s Contract Comeback & On-Field Heat

Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer, captain of Punjab Kings, is celebrating his reinstatement into the BCCI Central Contracts (Grade B) after a brief omission. His consistency in the Champions Trophy 2025, where he was India’s top scorer, played a key role in this comeback.

But Iyer also found himself at the center of a viral moment. During the RCB-PBKS match, a video showed Kohli’s animated celebration seemingly aimed at Iyer — sparking debates among fans about on-field sportsmanship.

The situation escalated online, with Iyer’s sister, Shresta, defending him against online trolls:

“He’s human. He plays with heart. Trolling won’t break him, but it speaks volumes about those who do it.”

IPL 2025: Not Just Cricket, It’s a Saga

With moments of camaraderie, emotional depth, and fierce rivalry, IPL 2025 continues to blur the line between sport and storytelling. As Kohli and Iyer show — the game is as much about character as it is about cricket.
