Most runners cross the finish line of the New York City Marathon and immediately start thinking about sitting down. This year, the smarter move is to keep your medal handy a little longer.

The TCS New York City Marathon 2026 is this Sunday, November 1, and businesses across the city have lined up a proper spread of freebies and discounts for participants. Free burgers, a full Wagyu Sunday roast, museum admission, rooftop views and yes, a complimentary tattoo. Your race bib and finisher medal are doing serious work this week. Check our complete NYC Marathon race guide for everything else you need to know about the course and race day logistics.

Pre-Race Perks Worth Planning Around (Oct 30-31)

If you are in town on Saturday, the Tracksmith shakeout at The Brooklyn Circus (361 Canal Street) is the obvious anchor. It is a relaxed 5K starting at 9:30 am with post-run Nespresso coffee and Skratch electrolytes. No bag check, so pack accordingly and register in advance. Treat it as your final shakeout before Sunday.

Magic Hour Rooftop is offering 50 percent off its 10-pancake Super Stack at brunch on Saturday with proof of marathon registration. Whether that counts as smart carb loading or a terrible idea depends entirely on your stomach.

For skyline views the day before, Top of the Rock is discounting timed-admission tickets to $26, down from the usual $42, from Thursday October 30 through Sunday November 2. Buy at the box office with your bib or proof of enrollment. The 9/11 Memorial and Museum is also running a two-for-one offer from October 31 through November 7 with code NYRR26.

The Best Finisher Rewards on Race Day, November 1

The headline offer is at Chelsea Living Room (243 West 14th Street). Show your finisher medal from 2pm for a complimentary Sunday roast: Wagyu top sirloin, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, vegetables, stuffing and Irish stout gravy. The catch: you need a reserved seat at the bar or restaurant and the deal covers the medal holder only. A DJ runs from 6-10pm if your legs have anything left to give.

Magic Hour Rooftop doubles up on race day with a free brunch entrée plus a Magic Mimosa or cold-pressed juice with your bib or medal. Rosa Mexicano locations across the city are handing finishers a complimentary frozen pomegranate margarita or cucumber-mint refresco with an entrée purchase.

Sakasama is offering 20 percent off the individual check for medal holders. Worth knowing if hand rolls are more your speed than a burger.

On the Shake Shack deal: NYRR is sending registered participants a unique redemption code by email for a free ShackBurger or Veggie Shack. The offer runs November 1 through 7 but is in-person only at participating company-owned locations. App and online orders do not qualify. Check your inbox for the code.

Post-Race Recovery Perks: Days 2 Through 8

The American Museum of Natural History is offering finishers free general admission from November 1 through 8. Show your medal at the ticket desks. Eight days is enough time even for the most wrecked quads to get there.

SUMMIT One Vanderbilt has 30 percent off up to four Ascent tickets through November 8 with code NYRR2026, which makes it a decent option if you have family or friends in town for the weekend.

For recovery: Lush shops at Lexington, Columbus Circle, Upper West Side and Union Square are handing out a free After Massage Bar or Salt Water Soother Bath Bomb from November 1 through 3. Bring your medal or confirmation email and go early because these are while supplies last. The Vitamin Shoppe is offering a free protein bar for finishers from November 2 through 6.

Pinky Swear is handing out free fries to runners showing a bib or medal from November 3 through 7. And Hustle Butter Tattoo Gallery at 132 Crosby Street is offering finishers free marathon-inspired flash tattoos from November 2 through 4. You will need both your bib and your medal. It is a bigger commitment than the training plan, but also: you just ran 26.2 miles through five boroughs.

Tracksmith is also printing free personalised finisher posters with your finish time at The Brooklyn Circus and Brooklyn Trackhouse on Sunday and Monday, while supplies last. Easier to explain than the tattoo.

New York has always done marathon weekend generously but this year’s lineup of finisher perks is unusually broad, fitting for a race marking 50 years of the five-borough course. If you are running on Sunday, the Chelsea Living Room roast is worth reserving a seat for before you even reach the start line in Staten Island. Everything else can be planned around your finish time and how willing your legs are to keep moving. The city is celebrating. You might as well let it pick up the tab.
