Today at Tawang, Anish Thapa Mager won the 4th Tawang Marathon with a time of 2:38:51. On race day. At altitude. In Arunachal Pradesh. If that sentence doesn’t already tell you this event is unlike anything on the Indian running calendar, nothing will.
Results from the 24 October 2026 edition started going live within hours of the finish, with overall winners confirmed across all four distances. Age-group category results are still being uploaded, so if you raced and want your placement, keep an eye on the official Tawang Marathon results page.

Full Marathon Results: Anish Thapa Mager Wins the 4th Tawang Marathon 2026
Anish Thapa Mager (BIB 42220) took the men’s full marathon title in 2:38:51, with Mukesh Kumar second in 2:42:48 and Nikhil Santosh Singh third in 2:49:46. A gap of nearly four minutes between first and second suggests Mager was in genuine control, not just clinging on through the final kilometres.
On the women’s side, Binita Kami (BIB 42053) won in 3:53:31, holding off Samjana Subba (3:59:33) by just over six minutes, with Dakahi Kyndait completing the podium in 4:08:31. Racing a full marathon through the mountains of Tawang makes those times more than respectable.
